In Muesebeck et al., Hymenoptera of America North of Mexico, synoptic catalog. U.S. Department of . Species number in North America: Number of new species recently described from JRN: 4. Notes. JRN is an exceptionally species rich site (at about 10% of the entire North American fauna). This is probably due to the intensity of work here but also due to the geographic position of the area and the diversity of ant habitats. Carapia et al. () reported 13 species in the genus Trialeurodes from Mexico, of which 6 occur on citrus. Trialeurodes floridensis (Quaintance ), the guava whitefly or the avocado whitefly, is a polyphagous insect feeding on many plant species from 20 families, and is widely distributed in the New World from United States of America.
